I've never payed attention to the lyrics of this dancing hit of the Pretenders. It's beautiful, sincere. Says a lot about me, and I believe, about a lot of people I know. My tribute to this "pop poem".
Don't get me wrong
If I'm looking kind of dazzled
I see neon lights
Whenever you walk by
Don't get me wrong
If you say "Hello" and I take a ride
Upon a sea where the mystic moon
Is playing havoc with the tide
Don't get me wrong
Don't get me wrong
If I'm acting so distracted
I'm thinking about the fireworks
That go off when you smile
Don't get me wrong
If I split like light refracted
I'm only off to wonder
Across a moonlit mile
Once in a while
Two people meet
Seemingly for no reason
They just pass on the street
Suddenly thunder, shower everywhere
Who can explain the thunder and rain
But there's something in the air
Don't get me wrong
If I come and go like fashion
I might be great tomorrow
But hopeless yesterday
Don't get me wrong
If I fall in the "mode of passion"
It might be unbelievable
But let's not say "so long"
It might just be fantastic
Don't get me wrong
Mainly the part "I might be great tomorrow but hopeless yesterday". That's part of life, please, don't get me wrong.
Muito boa!
ResponderExcluirPara aumentar a lista de "Good Lyrics", tem uma do Queen, do álbum A Night at the Opera (1974), para mim o melhor deles:
GOOD COMPANY
Brian May
Take good care of what you've got
My father said to me
As he puffed his pipe and Baby B.
He dandled on his knee
Don't fool with fools who'll turn away
Keep all Good Company
Oo Hoo Oo Hoo
Take care of those you call your own
And keep Good Company
Soon I grew and happy too
My very good friends and me
We'd play all day with Sally J.
The girl from number four
And very soon I begged her won't you
Keep me Company
Oo Hoo Oo Hoo
Come marry me for evermore we'll
Be Good Company
Now marriage is an institution sure
My wife and I our needs and nothing more
All my friends by a year
By and by disappeared
But we're safe enough behind our door.
I flourished in my humble trade
My reputation grew
The work devoured my waking hours
But when my time was through
Reward of all my efforts my own
Limited Company
I hardly noticed Sally as we
Parted Company
All through the years in the end it appears
There was never really anyone but me
Now I'm old I puff my pipe
But no-one's there to see
I ponder on the lesson of
My life's insanity
Take care of those you call your own
And Keep Good Company
Abração!
Giorgio
